Apart from photography, one of Domenico Lucchetti’s great passions was puppets: he used to watch, from his shop located in Piazza Vecchia, performances which were being staged below the Palazzo della Ragione. 

On many occasions, at our Museo Domenico Lucchetti, Luì Angelini and Raffaele Scuri raised the subject of the need to create a citizen’s cultural institute to begin collecting the huge amount of dispersed material, with the aim of creating, if not a true and proper Puppet Museum, at least a puppet section. Thanks to Raffaele Scuri, who in the last few years has lodged two historical puppet theatres and two barrel organs with the museum and to Luì Angelini’s research work, Bergamo historical Museum has begun the first stages of conservation and work to add value.
